Several simple analogies are used to underpin the programme. These include –
- We are like a ‘laptop’.
We are mobile and have a data processing centre, data storage, underlying software and a modem. Our operating system and software is being constantly upgraded whether we are aware of it or not. We need to understand how to use the new software to make the most of it. A laptop’s modem allows us to tap into the ‘world wide web’ of knowledge and ideas while our modem allows to tap into the ‘cosmic web’ of unlimited ideas, solutions and opportunities. We need to build our ability to use this. We also need to be able to ‘delete’ old unwanted programmes and files plus ‘defrag’ our system for optimal performance.
- We have an inbuilt ‘GPS guidance system’. Just like any GPS, we are able to set a new destination from our current location and be given the smartest route for getting there. We often need this reactivated or strengthened to use it more effectively.
- Our GPS system works in a similar way to the ‘hot/cold’ game played with children. Something desirable is hidden and we are given indications of whether we are ‘hotter – feeling good’ and moving towards what is wanted or ‘colder – not feeling good’ and moving away from what is wanted.
- We are like a river.
There is a flow to everything we do. Things we don’t want are upstream where the flow peters out, while everything we want is downstream so learn to ‘go with the flow’. We have boulders in the river which are our limiting beliefs and they disrupt the flow creating turbulence. Whether we understand it or not, the flow is increasing, so we need to work on smoothing out the flow and allow it to take us to those things that we want, faster and more easily.
- We are like a magnifying glass.
If we develop our ability to adjust our focus and hold it steady, we are able to ‘set things a light’. Perhaps the one aspect we overlook is this – if our magnifying glass has layers of grime on it, then the first thing we must do is clean it so the light can shine through.
- We are like a radio.
There are many stations out there covering all sorts of different tastes.. You have to deliberately ‘tune’ into the frequency of a radio station to hear it. We can change it at any time as there are many stations. And we get to choose which station we listen to, rather than listening to someone else’s station.
