It has become very obvious to me that holding a new space or way of operating when surrounded by old ideas and beliefs is very challenging. I came out of the corporate world 20 years ago and have spent my time understanding a completely new way of operating and recently went back in to apply it, only to find myself enmeshed in the old stuff once again. Only this time I got immediate feedback and found myself nearly crippled with a pinched sciatic nerve.
The potential for change and therefore creating different results is huge. If we look at the challenges facing the world financially, health wise (physical, emotional and mental) and environmentally, to mention a couple of significant areas, there is a huge need to make a real shift.
This shift would appear to be too large and complicated to achieve and yet I believe it is simpler than we believe. The shift required for this new space is at an individual level. We do need to work together and therefore leadership to create a shared vision makes a huge difference. And leaders have a massive impact across their whole organisation. When individuals understand the power they have to influence others and effect change, then a real shift begins to take effect.
Most of us are still caught up in the old belief pattern of being externally focused. We try to control or change conditions and others external to us – “If only they would stop doing what they are doing we would okay (and that would make me happy)”. It is this external focus that keeps us stuck and recreating the same results.
When individuals are able to see how the creative process works and the beliefs they have been running their life through, then they go through the most amazing change process. They start to become more conscious of what is going on and can ‘C’ things more clearly. They can take the ‘C’ in ‘Reactor’ and move to the front the front of the word. They move from being a REACTOR to being a CREATOR. It takes real courage to do this though as it means you take complete responsibility for the results in your life. What is more you must also consciously choose what results you what to see in the future and you chose to ‘be’ in the world.
In this way we have the power to change the world around us.
To hold this space of being a conscious creator in the face of old reactor habits and practices is challenging though. I have come to appreciate that is about mastering this process and continually fine-tuning our abilities – there is always the opportunity to improve, so be okay with where you are at and know the potential for even greater capabilities is available.
One aspect I am coming to appreciate is that we hold this creator space with an amazing energy to support us and hence is it not just up to us. The intelligence and power of this energy is unlimited, therefore the smart way to go to allow it operate through you. Then you become a conscious co-creator. It is like you have an unseen backup management team working 24/7 to line things up for you that you can absolutely rely on. You just need to ask, delegate and then watch out for the solutions, opportunities etc.
These new ‘operating system’ has the potential to solve any problems, bring solutions, bring opportunities – and simply begins with us. And that is the only thing we have control over – need control over.
As for me, it is a work in progress but I am enjoying the learning and passing this knowledge onto others that are looking for it.
I wish you well,
Craig
